Veneers

Veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or Composite which can cover face of the front teeth. Veneers are conservative and minimally invasive restoration which only replace the enamel of the affected tooth.

-Porcelain Veneers are indirect restorations which means they are custom crafted and need to be made in a dental laboratory after an impression is taken from the prepared tooth.

To ensure long lasting porcelain veneers a candidate for should have no grinding habit and subject teeth need to have no major decay or large previous restorations or fracture. If a tooth doesn’t meet any of the above essentials, porcelain Veneer is not a good restorative choice, and that tooth need to be restored with full porcelain crowns.

Bellow are the Indications for porcelain veneers: - To achieve a uniform and highly aesthetic smile - Discolored or stained teeth  -Misshapen an abnormal shape tooth   -To close gaps between the front teeth

This is important to know that, to achieve the ideal smile makeover, in cosmetic dentistry, we may need to incorporate other treatments prior to restoring teeth with porcelain veneers.

-Composite veneers ,are the second choice of material for veneers. They are direct restorations and can be finished in one appointment, they are cheaper than porcelain veneers and will discolor over the time.
